Cambodia retains overall gold medal lead in SEA Games 2023 as Vietnam closes in

 At the ongoing 23rd SEA Games in 2023, Cambodia maintained its overall medal lead.





With a total of 100 medals, including 37 golds, 31 silvers, and 32 bronzes as of May 8, Cambodia maintained its lead that it had established since the beginning of the medal competitions on May 4.

Cambodia's most recent gold awards were one in Vovinam, two in Kun Bokator, and one in Billiard Carom - at the 32nd Ocean Games being facilitated by Cambodia from May 5 to 17.

Eight of the 37 gold medals were won in Vovinam, eight in Kun Bokator, four in Chinlone, three in Jiu-Jitsu, two in Kun Khmer, two in Soft Tennis, two in E-Sports, one in Ouk Chaktrang (Chess), two in Triathlon, one each in Basketball, Cricket, Karate, Pencak Silat, and Billiard.

Yesterday saw competitions in more than 20 sports, including Triathlon, Cricket, Golf, Kun Bokator, Chess, Petanque, Vovinam, Athletics, Swimming, Mountain Bike Eliminator (MTB), Badminton, E-sports, Karate, Sepak Takraw (Chinlone), Soft Tennis, Tennis, Pancak Silat, Gymnastics (Artistic), Billiard, Seiling, Indoor Volleyball, Boxing, Kun Khmer, Kun Khmer, and
